Xsolla’s Berkley Egenes explains why “Gaming For Good” is becoming business critical in Good Game Club podcast

London, UK -  4 June 2026 - Gaming infrastructure companies are becoming increasingly influential in shaping accessibility, inclusion, and economic opportunity across the global games industry, according to Berkley Egenes, Chief Marketing & Growth Officer at Xsolla, speaking on the latest episode of the Good Game Club podcast.

Egenes argues that gaming companies should contribute social and cultural value alongside commercial growth, as games become one of the world’s most influential entertainment and technology sectors. He describes Xsolla’s role not simply as supporting game commerce and monetisation, but as helping build a more inclusive and globally connected gaming ecosystem.

During the episode, Egenes discusses Xsolla’s partnership with UK accessibility charity SpecialEffect and Stevenage FC, which is helping fund adaptive gaming equipment for disabled players through merchandise sales and fundraising initiatives. The program aims to help more players participate independently in gaming experiences and social communities regardless of physical ability.

“We believe that everybody’s a gamer,” Egenes says. “No matter where you are, what your journey is, what your abilities are, you should have the opportunity to play.”

The episode also explores how gaming companies are increasingly investing directly in creator opportunities and ecosystem development. Earlier this year, Xsolla funded attendance for 45 independent studios from around the world at the GDC Festival of Gaming in San Francisco after receiving more than 500 applications, helping smaller developers access investors, publishers, and international exposure.  “They otherwise would not have had the opportunity to be there,” says Egenes.

Egenes argues that the future growth of gaming will increasingly come from emerging markets, including Southeast Asia and Africa. He also suggests that gaming’s broader economic and cultural influence remains underestimated outside the sector, despite growing impact across education, fintech, entertainment, and digital culture.  “There’s so much power and positivity in our industry,” says Egenes. “Things that we’re doing in gaming are impacting fintech, movie creation, music creation, development, and design.”
